Veil of Darkness - once and for all was created by Ashur
How does it work? Is "has no effect" = cancelled, as per Direct Intervention? Ie, is
this LSJ-ruling from 2004 valid?

Card text:
Veil of Darkness
Event
Gehenna. Do not replace as long as this card is in play.
Each turn, when a vampire plays his or her first card that turn that requires any Disciplines, that vampire's controller reveals the top card of his or her library (before drawing to replace). If it is a master card, the original card has no effect (no cost is paid), and in addition, if the original card required Obtenebration [obt] , the vampire burns 2 blood.

Hmm, good question, but according to LSJ that makes no difference:

The latter.

If an action card gets canceled as it is played (by DI or Veil or anything
else), then the effects of that play (tapping the acting minion, beginning the
action, etc.) do not occur.

Pascal we ('you') really should add a glossary to the rulebook for key terms like cancelled....
