Believe me vampiric disease is GOLD. If people dont have a vessel or hunting ground or similar they stay in the loop of losing one and hunt.

No, that is what Society of Leopold does. Diseased vampires do not gain blood by hunting, so there is no loop. If the vampire burns his last blood at untap,, he hunts for 0, then burns the disease counter at the next untap and hunts for 1.

burning touch + change of target (and that's why there are 2 .44 magnum in the deck too)... a bit weak but as mentioned before: it is a deck that needs to survive and weaken everybody, not draw attention, make some bleeds for 1 and 2 and when everybody is empty, try for the oust.
ps what slow permanents you use?

Sniper Rifle is a GREAT idea. I'll add a couple to my deck. But how do you avoid Disease when you're acting and your prey's willing to block?

Great fun indeed! And I also have doubts for the master slot, rather have a pentex or sudden i think.
As you probably saw I chose quiet some bloodgain master cards: the rack is pure gold as is code of samiel and sniper rifle to not suffer too much from it myself. And hungry coyote makes you still gain a blood if hunger moon is in play and you need to hunt.
Believe me vampiric disease is GOLD. If people dont have a vessel or hunting ground or similar they stay in the loop of losing one and hunt. I also play a cryptic mission deck with 3 copies ... I've seen vampires playing second trad / majesty / ... go down in no time.

I have a G6 deck loaded up with 20 Hide the Heart, a bunch of Blissful Agony, and lots of slow permanents. It's a lot of fun to play, but I haven't run Vampiric Disease or Frenzy. With the former, I would worry that the card would affect me too severely, since I'm quite likely to end up in close range combat. Blood management is already a problem, so I don't like the idea. With Frenzy, I wonder if it's worth including a master card that's likely to only cost two vampires one blood each. I know that it could be situationally useful, but I'm not sure if that sort of opportunity cost for a master card is worth it.

Not sure it is the right crypt for this deck. You need :VAL: for both Blissful agony and the bleed reduction effect of Hide the Heart, but Group 2 is all about swarming with cheap :val: minions. In Group 4, you have two 5caps with :VAL:.

I dont know, the more i try to build !salubri that need VAL, the more i lke g6.
Sure, silas only has val, but the other two have VAL and the grouping is two five caps and a six, with a good support 3 cap in veejay, and if you want a big hitter, the kinda pricey piol wise Qawiyya hits hard.

But i guess it all depends on ideal setup.

Boris, i do concede that Langa is AWESOME. And g 4 has 4 !salubri to sixes 3, but being able to play abbot has helped g6 in my recent stuff.
G2 is decidedly better in brother in arms swarms with hide the hearts out the wazoo......

Tx. Dela is good: can bounce, +strength, VAL, ... but i thought it might get too expensive? I still want adonai as n°1 for the +1 bleed and the potential rush. But it is worth the try.
Path ... yez but since i have only 7 VAL cards that cost I thought that it might be not worth drawing it halfway the game... maybe better another blood gain card like perfectionist or so?
Frenzy ... like it a lot ... probably one of the only good uses for a crappy card? Can I say that, lol?! Didn't come up with that (and I didn't play a couple of years after sabbat - ) so still catching up (it's like what they say about sleep you didn't get)

One remark about my blissful agony strategy: play vampiric disease on grandprrey, then make your prey and grandprey fight, or/and grandpredator and predator ... they have no reason to be nice to eachother. This is of course in the abscence of war ghouls ... And i know the are crosstable buddies but (in a perfect world) your grandprey gets weaker and starts more defensive play -> more pressure on prey and less on your grandpredator who then can put more presuure on your predator! And you are in the perfect spot, lol! How about that?

Why frenzy ? I don't see the synergy, but it may be me being farsighted.

Adonai intercepts Vamp 1 from predator.
plays blissful agony sup during combat.
Sends Vamp 1 to fight Vamp 2 from prey.
Plays frenzy, so they go to a second round of combat.
Double the loss of blood from them, or make them spend S:ce, which is always good.

Also : prevents the use of Talbot / Ivory bow / and other stuff in a pinch. At the very least, provides a press.

The Blissful Ago / Frenzy combo is played since Bloodlines came out. Time to catch up :)

Invest in Dela Eden and Path of Retribution .

Blissful Agony is great for 1 blood.
Blissful Agony for free is amazing!

Consider a few copies of Frenzy .

The general idea is to be pretty invisible, survive, weaking everybody (by playing vampiric disease crosstable + my enemy's enemy) and have 'some tablecontrol' with hide the heart. Played it once and it worked better then anticipated (for a fundeck) but i felt i needed more of everything: more wakes, more intercept, more bleed, more poolgain, more blissful agony, more society, ....

So any ideas for improvement are welcome
(i thought about smiling jack, but that really puts you in the centre of attention which you probably can't handle, thought about adding matthias or converts to crypt, adding inceptor/vitae block/ final loosening ... but i don't seem to have any slots left ....; signet of king saul/crocodiles tongue, powerbase: baranquilla, wash/sudden, life in the city, carlton!, ...)

TWD: Australian National Open Event, 20th April, 2013, Melbourne Australia

Category: Event Reports and TWD

Better late than never for reporting :)

The Australian National Opens were held in Melbourne on April 20, 2013.
16 players showed up initially, including 2 new(ish) players for their first tournament. 2 more players arrived and joined the fray for round 2.
18 players in all.

At the end of the preliminaries we had Matthew Prescott in the lead with 3 GW and 9vp! Unfortunately he had a plane to catch back to Brisbane (he did not think he would so well when booking his flight) and couldn't play the finals.

In the end Ivor Blockley was the winner with 2.5vp on the finals table.

This is a continental qualifier. Qualified players are:
Ivor Blockley
Craig Love
Eli Bateman
Ben Szymkow
Julian Gatt
Tony Wedd
Chris Hammond
Chris Lynch
Ben Milhouse
Stewart MacLeod (organiser)

Here is Ivor's deck list:
