On 28 September, at the same time when the EC Day 1 final was played, 5 winners of this year’s GP events gathered in another room the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics of the University to compete for the Grand Prix title in Warsaw, Poland.

This was an exciting game and gathered quite a few spectators. After a really strong opening by Teemu and Danilo, who agreed to rush other players first, the game took its first unexpected turn when Danilo was ousted in the 26th minute of the game with a lot of help from Martin (Pentex Subversion + Camarilla´s Iron Fist).

Being rescued by the Gangrel didn’t save Martin’s Toreadors as Diana went back to torpor, but this time with Fame, which ended Martin’s game in his unlock phase.

Sebastian’s Tremere, set up in the meantime with 5 vampires, Ponticulus, Ivory Bow and Heart of Nizchetus (the latter being crucial in getting the best possible hand), used Anarch Troublemaker and lunged forward, reducing the Gangrel to 3 pool.

Edouard also decided to go full-ahead and reduced Teemu’s Banu to 5 pool with Monkey Wrenches and Club Illusion. This caused the second unexpected turn, leading Teemu to change his tactics as he entered combat with Casey Snyder, just to let her unlock with Earth Meld, and rescued Ruslan from torpor. This was not enough to keep Edouard in the game for long and the Gangrel were ousted 5 minutes before the end of the game.

These 5 minutes turned out to be pretty intense between Teemu Sainomaa who already had 2 vp, and it would be enough for him to stay in the game to win. However, it ended in its final minute, when Sebastian Fredenberg of Sweden played Govern the Unaligned with Foreshadowing Destruction, ousting Teemu and winning with 3 victory points.

On Sunday, September 29, 75 players turned up for the 30th Anniversary Tournament in Warsaw, Poland. The event was held at the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics of the University of Warsaw.

Standings after three rounds:
1. Esa-Matti Smolander 2 GW 7 VP
2. Arnold Riegler 1 GW 6 VP 108 TP
3. Alexander Roman 1 GW 6 VP 102 TP
4. Michał Kochanowski 2 GW 5.5 VP
5. Jan Etzel 1 GW 5 VP

Alex was off to a great start thanks to Information Highway and 4 transfers on his first round, which allowed him to oust Jan in 25 minutes. His next target was Michał's Saulot on 6 pool after influencing 3 vampires and playing Heidelberg Castle. Michał proved to be a much more difficult prey, defending and generating 14 pool.

The two political decks worked hard on ousting Alex, who had 9 minions but finally got ousted by Esa-Matti playing Stanislava who now had to deal with Saulot with 1 hour left on the clock. Although Political Stranglehold was resolved successfully, Arnold ousted Esa-Matti the Stanislava player with 16 minutes left on the clock. However, Michał Kochanowski of Poland was able to oust him in the remaining time, winning by being the only player taking 2 vp off the table with Saulot. Congratulations!
