Because it seems creepy [for me, at least] to cold text/call someone about a message they posted a year ago. [Granted, putting your phone number on a public board invites creepiness. But I'll leave that for others to exploit.] If he's still interested and pays attention around here, he may check on his old thread when it wakes back up. If not, he's probably moved on, like the rest of this area.
