Don't Touch My Pool or Block Shalmath!

The few tests I had with Touch of pain have shown me that it's surprisingly efficient. The first one is likely to torpor someone, and then your predator will have to delay his assaults to gain more blood on his minion.
It's not the same as packing Deflection or even Telepathic counter, but it's much more efficient than what I initially thought.

I think touch of pain doesn't help much as it doesnt stop or reduce or bounce bleeds.

If you cannot multi-strike, there is not a scenario in which AK-47 is worse than Assault Rifle.I have some questions. Maybe I does not understand the deck at all.
* Why AK-47 and not Assault Rifle ? To hose some prevention cards?

2. Opponent plays cards that hinder additional strikes (Decompose, Rigor Mortis, Sympathetic Agony)
3. You have to pay blood or take damage for each strike (Lucian the Perfect or Putrefaction)
4. You face Nephandus who has built-in damage reduction. Assault Rifle does 3 damage. AK-47 does 1 + 1 = 2.
*** For the record, I do agree that AK-47 is *generally* better than Assault Rifle, but there are some circumstances where Assault Rifle is preferable.

1. You go to torpor during the first strike resolution (you've facing ranged agg, or you're low on blood) so you only get one strike in. With Assault Rifle you'd get 4 damage in, with AK-47, only 2.

Look, the real problem for Shalmath may be weenie decks or allies, so in this case AK-47 is better choice than Assault Riffle.
Please, find out 101 differences in another special topic.
P.S. Narrow Minds looks nice in this deck version. It helps with this problem:

Oh, so "popular" cards. But you know, Assault Riffle can do nothing against really popular Dodges, Sideslips, Sidestrikes, etc.2. Opponent plays cards that hinder additional strikes (Decompose, Rigor Mortis, Sympathetic Agony)
Thats why I have Ivory Bow also.3. You have to pay blood or take damage for each strike (Lucian the Perfect or Putrefaction)
