file Marcia, Aksinya & Jayakumar

Here's a kind of bruise & bleed deck with Aksinka using her special ability to discard extra copies of Zillah's Valley for bleed bounces. The deck hopes to oust primarily with the Deep Songs and Tier of Souls while beating enemies down with a fun combination of Carrion Crows, Theft of Vitae and Skin of Rock. Any ideas on how this setup might be improved? Thanks! :)

:THA: does nothing for you here. :ANI: has combat offense, :FOR: has combat defense and untap. All it does is gimping your crypt choices when :ANI::FOR: has a wide selection with very good midcaps.

I agree with Boris. Switch Thefts for Aids and find some nice ANI+FOR-midcaps. Might need some more ousting power though. Depending on your meta, I might consider other for-prevent cards, and possibly some Cat´s Guidances.

You could also add more master like vessel, and mayne when diversifying your crypt include talbot.

Heres what i see: you bonce with aksynia and zillahs, bleed with tier and deep song, and your optimal combat strategy is 2 with crows, theft 2, pay one for prevent sometimes and hope nobody runs di2 in a real combat deck oryour screwed?

If you want to do these things, id reccomend a difderent grouping and no ravnos. G12 or 23 gangrel. You have a prince who can bounce. Run deflections and governs/ conditioning, and turn zillahs into better stuff and dominate skill cards. Then use support like raven, bear paw, etc or danielle, beckett, sophia, etc.
Now, you tier of souls and deep song, earth control and possibly rapid chamge or lokis gift for stealth, and possibly conditioning.
You still rush and bleed, block with stsw or whatever, or bounce.

Combat: gangrel revel. You now punch for two. Pre range give someone rqven spy or murder of crows with pack alpha. Run like 4 pa and a couple birds to pull out, maybe one or two dog pack.
And obviously carrion crows. Your fights should be crows two(maybe retainer does damage) hands two, ay indomitability or hidden strength to prevent and press, taste for 4 if you want, then punch two birds two, you get the idea. And you can agg poke some with a few claws.
You play 2 cards still, bu yoir gain is taste 4 instead of theft 2, and you can diversify prevent cards so you get more results. Also, ritual challenge makes you hit hard. Its rough to cope with punch three, possible crows, prevent and press.

Im not saying its better than aksynia, but if yiur plan is biuncing, bleeding, and cmbat, what ive suggested does the first two at least and good and the combat better.

If you want tha combat, crows, bats, press, apportation, walk of flame seems caustic.

Thanks for the input folks.

I'm pretty sure that most V:tes players by now are familiar with Animalism combat decks. Sure, there's tons of vamps with Animalism and Fortitude and tons of combat decks that go: Carrion Crows + Aid from bats but, after playing those decks a hundred times I'm looking for something different. Hence, the addition of Thaumaturgy into the mix.

I wish there were more vamps that had superior THA, ANI and FOR; but there's not many to choose from. I consider Theft of Vitae to be both offensive and defensive. And, unlike, say, Starvation of Marina, it costs nothing and completely counters Fortitude. Which, in my play group, is a very common discipline to encounter. So, I'm interested in odd combat combos in general and I have already found that Crows, Blood Stealing and Damage Prevention works pretty damn well together. It's getting everything else in the deck: Masters, cards for ousting, intercept vs bleed bounce etc. that really requires more finesse to pull off. Any ideas there?

I had a similar deck centered around Fakir al Sidi and Marcia with Jayakumar, Anjalika Underwood and Yuri Kerezenski in support. I played various versions maybe thirty times and was ousted three times or so.

The idea was to use Theft and Villein to bloat and have a good blocking module (lots of wakes that double up as intercept (Sense the Savage Way, Cat's Guidance) in addition to Kumpania and Raven Spies). Rutor's Hand and Theft were the main reasons for Thaumaturgy. For oust I had Camera Phones (and Deep Song bleed) but it was a slow deck.

People who haven't tried the deck (or faced it) underestimate Theft by a lot but that is to be expected. Theft goes through prevent, works on allies (including Ponticulus for example), works at range and has a built-in Taste in it (that works on allies, too). It's amazing when coupled with Hidden Strength for prevent and press and Carrion Crows for environmental damage and torporizing.

And this is the part that people commenting here don't understand. Since Theft is usually used by its lonesome it isn't all that, but coupled with Hidden Strength and Carrion Crows the combat module is utterly devastating - though unfortunately foiled by Strike: Combat Ends. Which is why you need to have a blocking game going on, essentially. Perfect Clarity is a possible (though costly) solution.

Owl Companion is crazy good, btw. It is often underestimated, but knowledge of someone's hand is game winning stuff.
