Mr. Hell for Leather was created by Joscha
Recently, after reading a blogentry regarding obt-pot combat-decks on extrala's excellent vtes-one blog, I found out, that Conrad Adoula is Mr. Hell for Leather indeed, because he can play every version of the card (excuse me, if sby had that insight before and I call myself genius unjustified :) ).

So I worked out this deck.

Deck Name: Conrad\'s Hell for Anarchy
Author:
Description:
Lasombra Anarch combat

Crypt (Capacity min=1 max=8 avg=4.62; 13 cards)
==================================================

5x Anarch Convert 1 Caitiff:ANY
1x Badr, Shadow of Granada 7 DOM OBT POT Lasombra:5
1x Black Wallace 6 obt tha DOM POT Lasombra:4
3x Conrad Adoula 8 ani cel DOM OBT POT Lasombra:4
1x Gianmaria Giovanni 5 dom nec obt POT Giovanni:5
1x Lord Vauxhall 7 DOM OBT POT THA Lasombra:4
1x Otieno 6 ani dom OBT POT Lasombra:4

Library (70 cards)
=====================

Master (13 cards)
2x Blood Doll
2x Dreams of the Sphinx
2x Fame
1x Giant's Blood
2x Haven Uncovered
1x Seattle Committee
1x Twilight Camp
2x Vessel

I'm not sure about Seattle and Twiligth, as I have already five Converts to go anarch. Hm.

Action (15 cards)
2x Bum's Rush
7x Govern the Unaligned
1x Graverobbing
4x Harass
1x Smash and Grab

Smash and Grab is awesome vs. Secure Haven or Monastery of Shadows, on ani you can even kill allies like Ponticulus, Tye Cooper or Ambrosius, that wreck your game.

Reaction (9 cards)
5x Deflection
2x On the Qui Vive
2x Wake with Evening's Freshness

Combat (31 cards)
5x Dark Steel
5x Hell-for-Leather

Beside Conrad Otieno can play it on ani.

8x Immortal Grapple
1x Slam
5x Taste of Vitae
6x Torn Signpost
1x Undead Strength

The combat package is all about effects that lasts more rounds and presses. Torn Signpost and Dark Steel with Immortal Grapple.

Combo (2 cards)
2x Steely Tenacity

I really like Steely Tenacity. For -1 handsize you give all your minions the special to bleed at +1 for 1 blood. Otieno and Conrad may use it on ani for strike +1 strength and a press.

Normal setup: Bring out a higher cap (Conrad, Badr, Lord V.), Govern down for help, repeat. Then you should get three minions plus maybe one Anarch Convert as fourth minion.

Offense: Hit a famed minion hopefully with Hell for Leather for 5 pool damage plus one in the untap, bleed some after disabling bouncing minions.

Defence: Deflection and hitting minions.

Difficulties: As usual for combat decks defence takes away resources for the oust.

Thanks for your thoughts. Maybe somebody can try this deck and write about its performance :) .

Im a huge fan of permanents in combat, especially when they help evry combat. Preturnatural strength and blaxk metamorphisis are good here. The lack of multiact hurts, (mylan is cool even withoit more actions, just sayimg) but some conditionin, command of the beast, power of one stuff tunrs that govern bleed of 3 into a bleed of 8.
All i have to say other tban that is Lord Vauxall is,the best support 7 cap with the best price in any recent set, only Iliana is better in my opinion for support vamps at 7 cap.

Replied by Joscha on topic Re: Mr. Hell for Leather
Black Met is a no-stealth-action and is too expensive (2 blood). I could add a pret. strength but as you already mentioned I normally have no spare actions for that.
I'm not convinced in the bleed-cards. It lowers the percentage of combat cards in the deck and makes blocking less dangerous, leaving you with a bad combat deck with mediocre bleeding power.
Lord Vauxhall is cool indeed. In this deck his Thaumaturgy isn't used though so he isn't better here than Badr.

I tried a deck like this in a Berkeley tournament years ago and did OK. Dark steel helps revive the concept. I used power of one, the mole, and murmur of the false will for some good effects, too.

I think this deck will run out of cards. The biggest problem I had with my version was not having enough minions to both attack and defend.

Good luck, let us know how it turns out.

Be careful when you fight the monsters, lest you become one.

Consider Rats Warning or Guard Dogs instead of the wakes you currently use, especially if you're planning to flick the bleeds.
