Hello,
I have managed to get hold of the old Toreador Starter Deck: Keepers of Tradition (12 Crypt and 77 Library Cards).
I'm new to the game and wanted to know if this pre-constructed deck was any good to play as is, or whether it needs some changes to make it competitive with newer decks?
We have a group of three new players and the decks which are being used are Stanislava 25th, Den of Fiends, Pact with Nephandi and a few of the new 5th edition starter decks: Nosferatu, Malkavian and Tremere.
Thanks in advance for any advice given.

You will have a pretty tough time with your deck in comparison to the other decks you mentioned.
The main reason is that the BCP decks a streamlined, most of the decks of the old times are/were not.
So changes are highly recommended.
Which options / card pool do you have available?

Many thanks for getting back.
I suspected the deck wouldn’t be up to scratch as is. I have also got my hands on a First Blood expansion and the v5 Toreador. I quite like the idea of a Toreador combat deck, rather than it being too vote oriented, but need to research what that might look like. I’d welcome any suggestions, or links to any Toreador combat decks you know of.
Thanks again.

This is not a deck, but just pile of cards. Half of which you can strip and reuse later (in different decks) and the rest is junk.
Don't try to play with it (or just vs other preconstructed decks of that period, they were almost all very bad).

You're aware that you can easily use proxies in your private environment?
Therefore I'd suggest to try to find inspirations in the Tornament Winning Deck Archive or this forum. There also used to be the Deck Bashing Challenge (or so?) somewhere, which was about mashing two starters together to get a competitive deck. Not sure if I can still find that link or if the Toreador Starter was used there.
