South Australian Continental Qualifier TWD+Report was created by Sudden Reversal
What: SA Qualifier for 2011 Australian Nationals in October
When: 19th Feb 2011
Where: The British Hotel, North Adelaide
How: with ruthless efficiency, kangaroo steak, schnitzel and beer. Oh, I mean 3R+F all 2 hours.
For the second SA qualifier in as many years we had a decent turn out from interstaters and locals, split down the middle at seven each and making for some really interesting tables. The British was a fantastic venue once again, surrounded by artworks in our alcove with general public and revelers walking by on their way to the bar, the restuarant or even a hen's night. Many thanks to the proprietor once again for welcoming such an odd bunch, very accomodating. BIG THANKS to Hugh for hosting casual games on both nights, VTES and boardgames are tops!
Top 50% qualified for the NATS.

Final Table: Jeremey (Weenie DOM) -> David (Salubri AUS Wall) -> Leslie (Theo\Donal\Beast POT rush) -> Steve H (Baali S\B with servants) -> BJ (Malk Toolbox)
Lelsie did very well in selecting his seating placement, having faced most the decks beforehand. Brainwashes severely hampered David's game, holding on with Matthew and a sniper rifle but unable to bring out a second vamp, the continued pressure of seduction and Malk flicks being too great and was first ousted. Leslie selectively knocked out Jeremey's weenies with well timed rushes keeping him somewhat under control, also being afraid of the potential agg that Steve H might have been holding. Steve misjudged a much needed Hell's Fury getting blocked in the wrong domian by Donal, then paying the price when Leslie finally decided to go forwards, having had little pressure himself. Leslie put Tension in the Ranks in play and Steve's remaining vamps got taken down by the Brujah, he was soon ousted. Theo and Co then went backwards against Jeremy, leaving himself and BJ to fight it out for the end game. A fame on one of BJ's vamps started the torpor rescue torpor cycle until she was finally out of pool.

Well done Leslie. It was a well deserved victory.
As soon as I sat down and looked at my predator, I knew I had little to no chance. I am surprised I lasted as long as I did.
Cheers
Steve Harris

Oh, props go to Hugh for the most original deck idea of the tournament as well.
His Giovanni with Daughters, the Entourage dies and is Shell Broken was novel to say the least.

I had an awful realization about Hugh's deck.
Member of the Entourage? Non-unique.
Shell Break? Only works on unique minions.
Nonetheless, fun deck! And I'd also like to thank Aaron for another smoothly-run tournament.
