TWD Sunday Seduction 26th June New Zealand was created by Ke.
Thanks for Jason for organising and putting on a great event.
NZ Nationals should be happening end of August.
Report below as best as I can remember.
Round 1 & 2
No Inko in ether opening crypts. Caused fairly slow starts, might go 4 copies next time.
Managed a GW 2.5 in round with a few minutes to spare after eventually dealing with multiple Unleashed Hell's Fury. Took a too early VP in round 2 causing the table to time out — however this knocked Andrew out of the finals so was probably worth it (sorry, not sorry Andrew).
Finals:
1st Michael '94 Malks
2nd Riley 5th Edition Malks.
3rd Rowan Brujah Dmitra Alastor Bruise.
4th Christopher Banu Haqim Anathema + Hunger of Marduk .
5th Ke MMPA Guruhi Bruise Bleed.
Finally had Inko in the opening crypt. First turn Pantheon + Information Highway. Inko out second turned. No founders, so used dreams for transfers and paid for Nana. This also kept me out of parity range.
The Banu Haqim combat required maintaining a solid combat hand. It was managed fairly well with Carrion Crows, Sewer lids and / or grapples. First combat went well and torporising the Banu Haqim made Chris a little combat weary.
Rowan had two bleeders up stream, so was focused on rushing backwards. Powerbase Luanda was changing hands constantly, swapping a bleed action for rush prevention by stealing Luanda. He tooled up with Preternatural strength and Heroric might — very scary POT + FOR + CEL combat.
Michael's Malk '94 vampires were quite squishy. Most turns were rush and torporise the unlocked vampire and then bleed for 3 - 5. After 2x founders and Abombwe on Inko I had 4 vampires in play: Nana, Inko, Fish, Maskini. Nangila was burnt via Hunger of Marduk and Anathema.
Fame was reversed, however I had enough to bleed my prey out once the last bouncer was removed. Rowan had torporised enough of Riley's minions to feel comfortable going forward. At this point there was about 20 - 30 minutes left in the game with my prey Riley on 12 pool.
I mainly had bleed cards in hand and could bleed for 15+ (3x Show of force, 2x Deep Songs and 2x Iron Glare). I spent two rounds bleeding for 1 with 4 minions to not look too scary, leaving my prey on 3 - 4 pool. This also gave Rowan room to beat up Chris's minions a bit before I ousted Riley with Iron Glare.
I think that after seeing me bleed for 1 so many times Rowan might have got complacent on 11 pool. With 10 minutes left, my first probing Show of Force bleed of 3 landed, as did the next 2 and a deep song bleed. This secured 3 VPs and the game.
