Steve's report:
Game 1:
Steve H (Anarch Gangrel) ->
Duncan (Nos Horseshoes) ->
Ezekiel (G2/3 Lasombra path of PATIV) ->
Brendan (G2/3 !Malk bleed) ->
Steve W (G4/5 Harbinger wall-adjacent IotV bleed)
Nosferatu splash some damage left and right but are caught out by Gangrel agg and never truly recover, and are first ousted. !Malks bleed into the Harbingers but are met by sufficient intercept and flick to hold them off until the Lasombra's buff voting power ousts them.
Comes down to Gangrel -> Lasombra -> Harbingers. The Lasombra are now sandwiched between two intercepty decks and also fall to the increasingly unstoppable Gangrel.
Harbingers are fighting a losing battle, but manage to hold out until time.
Ezekiel/Lasombra: 1VP, Steve H/Gangrel 2.5 VP, Steve W/Harbingers: 0.5 VP, GG.
Game 2:
Steve W (G4/5 Harbinger wall-adjacent IotV bleed) ->
Ji (Hecata aggressive corpse / rotting behemoth rush) ->
Adam (G2/3 !Malk bleed) ->
Steve H (Anarch Gangrel) ->
Ezekiel (G2/3 Lasombra path of PATIV)
The !Malks first vampire is binned early by the Gangrel agg, again. The Lasombra then call an early Reins of Power, giving the Gangrel 6 additional pool. Hmm!
The Gangrel build up a fearsome ready region while keeping the Lasombra on a tight leash. Lasombra get a depressing sense of deja vu between the same to intercept decks as last round.
The Hecata build up a fearsome array of Corpses and Behemoths, and finally launch into the !Malks, tearing them apart. The Harbingers take this opportunity to lunge the Hecata for the first oust. The Lasombra then finally fall to the Gangrel.
The Harbingers again try their best to hold out against the Gangrel horde, but this time are found wanting.
Steve H/Gangrel: 4VP, Steve W/Harbingers: 1VP, GG.
Final:
Glen (Anarch Brujah Bruise Vote) ->
Adam (G2/3 !Malk bleed) ->
Steve H (Anarch Gangrel) ->
Ezekiel (G2/3 Lasombra path of PATIV) ->
Steve W (G4/5 Harbinger wall-adjacent IotV bleed)
An early vote alliance between the Brujah and Lasombra proves fruitful, inflicting damage on both !Malks and Harbingers. The Lasombra then successfully call a War of Ages, which - after much discussion - the Harbingers get the Brujah to support removing, thus fracturing the vote alliance.
Every deck is running buff flick, and nobody knows where each bleed will land. Eventually, the Lasombra again fail against two intercept decks on each side and are first ousted (rough tourney for them all-round).
The Brujah lunge at the !Malks but the combination of Harbinger intercept and !Malk flick saves them, and the Harbingers take the opportunity to bleed out the Brujah.
So it came down to Harbingers -> !Malks -> Gangrel.
The !Malks had suffered too much damage at the hands of the Brujah, and couldn't survive much longer, falling to the Harbingers. With time running low the game devolved into a frenzied bleed and blockfest between the Harbingers and Gangrel, but neither were able to oust before time.
Steve W/Harbingers: 2.5 VP, Steve H/Gangrel: 1.5 VP ... GG!
