[Submission] Plague of Beasts was created by emime
Name: Plague of Beasts
Cardtype: Combat
Cost: 0 blood
Capacity: N/A
Discipline: Animalism
Clan: None
[ani] Strike: 1R damage.
[ANI] Only usable when combat would end at the end of a round where no damage was inflicted on either combatant or any of their retainers. The opposing minion or one of their retainers takes 2R environmental damage.
Flavor text: N/A
Art notes: A pack of feral animals pursuing a hooded figure in a moonlit forest.
World of Darkness reference: Vampire: The Masquerade Players Guide, page 69
How does this card address a compelling game need?: An inflation in the pervasiveness of Strike: Combat Ends cards may have rendered combat somewhat less interesting, outside of Immortal Grapple-based counter strategies. This affects among others the once very effective Animalism combat. The superior effect of Plague of Beasts could provide a different, alternative way to make playing dodge or combat ends a little more "risky", while the inferior duplicates an easy-to-cycle effect within the Animalism theme (see e.g. Canine Horde).
