file VTES as a living card game?

Sorry I am new to the community, and have not played since Jyhad. From what I understand the game is no longer in production? Assuming that is the case, has White Wolf ever considered reprinting the game as a Living Card Game in the Fantasy Flight model? For those unfamiliar, Fantasy Flight's living card games such as Game of Thrones and Warhammer Invasion use a set distribution for their packs and core sets rather than having booster packs with rares, commons and uncommons. So a core set might come with 4 pre-constructed decks that are slightly below tournament legal size, but have are designed to be totally balanced and playable stand alone, and completely preset(no random cards). Then every month they release a chapter pack that includes a full play set of 20 different cards (for Fantasy flight games the card limit is 3 cards max of the same type per deck) for 60 cards total. This makes getting new players into the game considerably less expensive, and it seems their sales have been very good as they have several LCG's running now and are about to launch a new Lord of the Rings game in the next month. The multiplayer appeal of VTES seems like it would be a big hit in this format, where as a CCG it was just too expensive for me to make competitive decks for all my friends to play when they were not willing to buy in to another CCG.

Anyway here is some more info on how fantasy flight does theirs, and whether White Wolf copied them, or licensed the game to them to reproduce it seems like it could be a way to resurrect and create new interest and add new players.

There has been a moderate amount of debate on this recently, many players seem to dislike the idea of VTES going LCG.

That would require White Wolf to be willing to invest money in printing new V:TES cards.

There is currently no expectation that this is true.

How do you manage a 3-card limit distribution for a no card limit game?

Yeah, this has come up before. There are a couple problems with the idea:

A) The first, biggest one is that White Wolf is unwilling to put more money into VTES, apparently. VTES didn't stop being produced 'cause it wasn't making money, or 'cause no one was playng. It stopped being produced 'cause the license agreement between White Wolf (who was publishing the game) and Wizards of the Coast (who owned the mechanics) ended after 10 years. And neither side (WW/CCP or WotC) were apparently willing to come to a viable agreement that could result in a new license agreement. So at this point, even the best production or distribution plan in the world is irrelevant, as unless WotC and WW/CCP can come to an agreement that is reasonable to both sides, financially speaking, there is no more VTES being printed, well, ever.

B ) [Again, I'll point out that I *hate* auto-smiley code. And that I had to come back in here and edit this, 'cause I had the audacity to try and use a "B" followed by a ")"...] VTES is a no card limit game. Which means that sometimes, you want a *lot* of a given card. Which the LCG model doesn't support well.
