Robert Scythe?
Some players seem to play better when they are more...relaxed.
When you are anvil, be patient; when a hammer, strike.

Now, at week of nightmares last year or the year before, a player was so piss drunk he could barely tell you where he lived, but was sucessfully running a girls deck.

Agreed - All 3 are great guys. But they are also hall-of-fame players, and you can bring any "easy to play" deck to the table, and they'll make your life H. E. Double Hockey Stick.
To some degree, they are masters of deflection. I don't mean the card. I mean this "Watch out for [player playing really "easy" deck], he's on his way to winning!". Meanwhile in the background getting set up to cause their prey sadness.
That is an under valued skill in VTES. Or rather, a rarely discussed skill.

Shhhh, quiet you.
I would never do that. It's Scythe doing all the manipulating. You have to watch out for him way more than you have to worry about me.
Oh.

Scythe is a friend of mine. I have to tell this story how good of a player he is..
At one tournament in California, I was getting my deck ready when I heard a group of players briefly mentioning they gotta stop 'letting' Scythe win the table. I was ease dropping so not sure what the detail of the content was about. Then I sat on this 5 player table and 3 of them were part of that group that were talking about Scythe and Scythe was the other player. I thought about mentioning to the judge there might be some bias against Scythe but thought game is about to start and the complication of having me mentioning this might cause an unpleasant halt to the tournament. During the game, Scythe seems to be going strong and I could tell where this game was going so I tried to persuade the table to help me survive and maybe I could do some damage to Scythe (I think he was my prey, but can't remember). Guess who won at that table? I'll give you one guess...

As for interesting topics, I think a One World by Night for VTES would be interesting, If there were like monthly "local storyline tournaments" where decks that show up, and which of those succeed, determine the local political status. Then regional trends create sort of a story arc, which could be fun RPG-wise as well.
i.e. Say multiple sabbat and camarilla decks show up in Las Vegas' monthly VTES OWN tourney, but the anarch deck wins, Las Vegas is now currently anarch and XYZ star vampires were key to the battle. Next month that deck has representation at each table (played by some random player present) in order to hold its local power. Or perhaps just the final table by a random player, whatevers.
Becomes a soap opera side meta game to bide our time.
