file Returning player - Card changes - Questions - Obsolete decks?

Thanks for all the answers.
I was wondering the Assamite/Set changes and this clears it up for VTES.

Thanks to both of you for clearing up the Ministry comment as well. I have to see if there would be something usable on any new Ministry cards for my infernal deck.

The Temptation trick could be usable at some point. I think I have always used them on enemy minions, but I can see where this might come handy. Unlike Mind Rape, Temptation can be used whenever needed (as long as it has the counters).

Also, I need to remove the ToGP from my decks. The vdb.smeea.casa is a marvellous site. I just happened to note that ToGP seemed to be banned when I searched for Temptation.

Once more thanks for all the answers, very much appreciated. I will link this post and return to this when needed.

Edit: I checked from VDB all the banned cards and it seems I have to check if I had Anthelios in any deck as well.

Uhh, I recall that the bleed action modifiers and additional strikes were already such that you could use only one card for them.... Good thing it is now cleared up. Seems that the cards that allowed differently were never really used in our playgroup.

This change didn't change the function of any of the old cards, it only changed the way said cardtexts are written. Now all bleed modifiers are limited by default, and require a line of text to say when they are not limited. Previously it was the other way around. This functions the same for combat cards that grant additional strikes. Limited by default, unless it says it isn't.

I have to clear for myself how the sect changes really work. Titles are lost etc. I don't recall if it has come up in our games though, so maybe just keep in mind to check it out if anarch conversion or some such happens.

Worth noting, that old cards that previously required an independent anarch, have received errata to now require either independent OR an anarch. For example reckless agitation.

If a vampire turns anarch, it loses its other sect (camarilla, sabbat, laibon).

Also worth noting that embraces and similar "create a vampire" cards now inherit the sire's sect, instead of having the default sect for that clan.

QUESTION3:
What would be the use of using Temptations on your own vampires? Does it have some actual gameplay use?

You can get a "free unlock" if you "take control and unlock" your own vampire. This is a rather old trick, and unrelated to the new changes.

QUESTION4:
It seems that Temptation of Greater Power is also banned? Is this similar situation as Lilith's Blessing? I think I still have Temptation of Greater Powers in few decks and I need to remove them if it is banned.

It is banned yes. The banlist is visible on this site, under "rules"- "cardlists".

Hmm, true, as anarchs are now their own sect. I think this mostly becomes something I have to remember with the Embraces and other such cards that create new vampires.

I'm afraid there are still many old tricks that I'm not too familiar with :). Having the option to untap is probably good. I recall FoS were not too great with fortitude for Freak Drives. It seems Temptation is bit convoluted method of doing one untap, but for Followers of Set, it might be a reasonable one.

I thought about this as well after the messages about ToGP and checked all the banned cards from VDB. I think Anthelios is the only other card after ToGP that I might have in some deck.

I think I got my decks now cleared of old stuff and banned cards. Next I have to start looking through winning deck archives if there are any new interesting cards that can be used in them. There has been some PDF and other updates in the past years and I have only really checked the Promo set 1 with Draco.
