file Why you should not let ChatGPT build decks for you...

Hi Everyone,

I played around with ChatGPT a bit and thought why not ask it for a VTES deck. It provides a deck and an explanation on how the deck works that sounds (on the surface) quite nice using a lot of the lingo, but is actually pretty ridiculous. Enjoy!

Me: Can you give me an idea for a Vampire the eternal struggle deck?

ChatGPT: Certainly! Vampire: The Eternal Struggle (VTES) is a customizable card game where players build decks around clans, disciplines, and strategies. Here's an idea for a VTES deck:

Deck Name: "Shadow's Embrace"

Clan: Lasombra

Strategy: Stealth and Dominate Control

Crypt (12 cards):
- 3x Lucita de Aragon
- 3x Montano
- 2x Rafael de Corazon
- 2x Alejandro Aguirre
- 2x Isabel Giovanni

Library (70 cards):
Master Cards:
- 6x Blood Doll
- 4x Information Highway
- 4x Secure Haven
- 2x Dominate
- 2x Fortitude
- 2x Presence

Action Modifier Cards:
- 10x Shadow Play
- 6x Lost in Crowds
- 4x Faceless Night

Reaction Cards:
- 8x Deflection
- 6x On the Qui Vive
- 4x Telepathic Misdirection

Combat Cards:
- 6x Majesty
- 4x Target Vitals

Event Cards:
- 4x The Gathering
- 2x Blood Weakens
- 2x Banishment

Equipment Cards:
- 4x Sniper Rifle

The goal of this deck is to utilize the Lasombra clan's inherent abilities in stealth and dominate disciplines to control the game. The deck focuses on maintaining a low profile while manipulating opponents' actions and decision-making.

The crypt consists of influential Lasombra vampires with strong abilities and disciplines. Lucita de Aragon and Montano offer solid combat capabilities, while Rafael de Corazon and Alejandro Aguirre provide additional political manipulation options. Isabel Giovanni brings some Necromancy synergy to the deck.

The library contains various master cards to support the deck's strategy, including resources like Blood Doll and Secure Haven for blood management, Information Highway for card cycling, and Dominate and Fortitude cards for added versatility.

Action modifier cards like Shadow Play and Lost in Crowds allow for effective stealth and maneuverability, while Reaction cards such as Deflection and On the Qui Vive offer defense against other players' actions. Combat cards like Majesty and Target Vitals provide combat options when necessary.

Event cards like The Gathering and Blood Weakens disrupt opponents' strategies, while equipment cards like Sniper Rifle can be used for precision removal of specific targets.

Remember, this is just a suggested deck idea, and you can customize it based on your preferred playstyle, the cards you have available, and the specific rules of the VTES metagame you're playing in.

I asked it to explain one of my TWDs to me, just to see what it could do about analyzing decks, since producing them seems like a no-go. It was equally awful at that, if not worse.

Another proof that ChatGPT is a language.based AI, predicting what's the most likely answer is from that the AI has digested/read before, but it has zero understanding of the topics as such. Also a quote from Wikipedia: "However, a notable drawback has been its tendency to confidently provide inaccurate information".

That being said, it would be really funny to see, if you have 5 of these "AI"-generated decks, and have human players play against each with these decks.

I tried to help it along with some restrictions on what not to include in the deck, this is what I got:
_________
Based on your specifications, here's a sample V:TES deck with 70 library cards and 12 crypt cards that focuses on Dominate and Obfuscate disciplines and excludes combat, equipment, political, and event cards:

Crypt (12 cards):
- 4x Malkavian Anto (Group 1, Capacity 4, Dominate, Obfuscate)
- 4x Malkavian Raphael de Corazon (Group 2, Capacity 5, Dominate, Obfuscate)
- 4x Malkavian Gravitnir (Group 2, Capacity 6, Dominate, Obfuscate)

Library (70 cards):
Master Cards:
- 10x Blood Doll
- 10x Dominate
- 10x Obfuscate
- 10x Dreams of the Sphinx
- 10x Minion Tap
- 10x Liquidation

Action Modifier Cards:
- 10x Lost in Crowds
- 10x Cloak the Gathering

Event Cards: None included as per your request.

Note: Since you specified excluding combat, equipment, political, and event cards, this sample deck focuses primarily on the Dominate and Obfuscate disciplines and includes basic cards that support the deck's capabilities without involving those excluded elements. Please keep in mind that the effectiveness of a deck can vary based on the specific card pool, the chosen strategy, and the dynamics of the play environment. Adjustments and modifications may be necessary for optimal performance in a given game or tournament setting.
