and I don't understand why we're still using it. I was thumbing through my new copy of the 30th anniversary deck and I was very disappointed to see that the text and format hasn't been updated. Here's the card with the current wording:
How many people teaching new players have had to explain how this card actually works, instead of how they think it works? A significant percentage of new players I've taught have had a hard time understanding what the card does based on card text alone.
Second Tradition has two discrete effects. Either it gives +2 intercept, or it allows a vampire that meets the requirements to burn a blood to unlock and attempt to block with +2 intercept, even if it wasn't yet needed. If Second Tradition were a card that required a discipline, it would probably look like this:
If we were to follow this logically, we could just replace the discipline icons with a reaction icon, like so:
There are a bunch of other cards that are common in the current meta that fit this "One Card with one requirement, but has two different effects that are hard to parse because it's just a giant block of text instead of a box and an effect like the game trains us to look for."
Bonus: the phrase "Even if x is not yet needed" is dumb and can be replaced by a keyword, Or even a second +, because it's really only used for stealth and intercept. or you could use "mandatory" to imply that you get the intercept before you actually need it.

Reformatting cards this way would indeed make MANY a card SO MUCH clearer!

It's been mentioned for years to do this to so many cards and has not changed.

Looks so much better. The huge blocks of text with multiple options are one of the main problems with newer players.
Also, would it be possible to move any "there can be only one" -notes to the top of the cards, to the bolded area? For example Pulled fangs has huge set of text, with the last sentence as "Vampire can have only one Pulled Fangs". I recall that there are many of these.

Indeed restrictions on play (like "only one can be played..." should be the first thing you see on the text!
And CERTAINLY not the last bit of text as in the days of old...
