To my surprise, I've had to rule on this exact subject 7 times in the last 2 months, so I guess this should be at least considered for inclusion. There are two questions pertaining to this subject.
Q1
Player A plays Wash on Player B's Giant's Blood. In their next master phase, how many master phase actions does Player A have after playing Villein?
1) None. Wash is a trifle and a player can only gain a master phase action from a single trifle each master phase. (CORRECT)
2) One. Villein is trifle, so Player A gets another master phase action.
3) One. Despite Wash being trifle, it is an out-of-turn master card so it doesn't count towards the one per master phase limit.
Q2
Player A plays Villein. Player B cancels Player A's Villein with Wash. Player A plays another Villein. How many master phase actions does Player A have after their second Villein?
1) None. Players don't get the trifle effect of a canceled master.
2) None. Player A is already using the trifle from Wash's effect, they don't get another master phase action.
3) One. Wash gives the controller of the canceled master another master phase action and Villein is a trifle. (CORRECT)
4) One. The cancelled Villein is trifle and grants Player A another master phase action as it is the first trifle master played this master phase. Wash also grants another master phase action.
Relevant card text:
Wash
Out-of-turn. Trifle. Do not replace until your unlock phase.
Cancel a master card played by your predator or prey as it is played, and its cost is not paid. That Methuselah gets +1 master phase action immediately, or at the start of their next master phase if the canceled card is an out-of-turn master.
Villein
Trifle.
Put this card on a vampire you control who has any amount of blood and move 2 to 5 blood from that vampire to your pool. Cards named Minion Tap cost you +1 pool to play. Villein costs +1 pool to play on this vampire.
