The new rule, that everyone who is not first is second, should lead to aggressive play. If you are ousted, who cares, you are second.
An indicator that this rule is not in our mind, is, that most standings show the 2nd players ranked by VPs. But that is against the intent of the rule. The ssecond player with 1 VP isnt better than the one with 0 VP. So standing should be shown alphabetical.

I would suggest that giving out different prizes for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th place should be illegal and punished accordingly, as it is subverting the very rules of the game and making players not play to win.

If different prizes are given to non-winning finalists, the prizes or the order they are chosen in should be randomized.
