4.5. Proxy Cards
As long as the game is not under production, the organizer of an event that is neither a National Championship nor a Continental Championship can choose to allow proxy cards in his or her event. For events where proxy cards are allowed, several points apply:
there are no limit to the number of proxy cards a deck can have
every proxy card must be a color-copy of the original card, on standard paper
the quality of the print must allow the reading of the illustrator's name
the organizer must mark the event as 'allowing proxy cards' on the VEKN calendar"
if the cards do not follow the guidelines above, they are not valid correct?

Indeed, they are not authorized in a tournament.4.5. Proxy Cards

I wonder about a different thing. The paragraph reads "As long as the game is not under production".
One could say this is no longer the case, thus proxies should no longer be acceptable. Are they nevertheless?

See www.vekn.net/forum/rules-questions/78985-tournament-rules-4-5-proxy-cards?start=18#101504
Or I'll just copy-paste here.
EDIT: Mind rape running at 96 euros + shipping atm. So, either inflation hit or the really expensive and difficult to obtain card clause is still not less expensive.
Tupdog at 20 euros, with 3 available. Tad short of the tuppers deck. And the list goes on...
Trust in Jan Pieterzoon.

So the real question is: when do we consider the game to be "under production"?
It's really down to two factors:
- When we can get the VEKN set cards printed as actual cards.
- When the really expensive and difficult to obtain cards which are important to the tournament metagame become less expensive and less difficult to obtain.
We're working on both of these things and we hope to have them resolved by the end of this year.

I agree (mostly).
However, VTES will always have this "have it or buy it" aspect, just look at event- or publication-based promos.
It is a good idea to go for equal chances for everyone, but to which extent can this truly be achieved?
