1) If you are qualified for ANY continental championship, you are eligible for ALL continental championships for that year.

2) Players are encouraged to attend and win EVERY continental championship that they can afford to attend.

Good... B)
By the way.
At this moment we don't have one VTES' World Championship. I thinking:
  • Why not we determine that the player that accomplished more Continental Championships in a given year, is that year VTES World Champion?

Then, the player with more money and time available would win.
Note that the top or the rankings is already filed with people who:
a. Travel more
b. Live either in Spain, France or USA (Hungary is cool too). ;)

Look that I am proposing that and that I have not "much" money. By the way, I don't travel much to others countrys, and I don't live in Spain, France, USA or Hungary.
What I say is that every game have a World Championship or a manner to appoint one World Champion.
I think one single World Championship Event isn't realy fair to appoint the World Champion. Give the players the chance to run through a series of Championships Events to achieve more than others, that I think is fair and incentive the players.
And is not just about someone have more money to travel. Even that he can travel to Mars that don't make of him a good player. One can travel to all Continental Championships of the year and not win a single vp.
Well, if we could play in every and all Continental Championships no matter where we live. So, would be great if we have more incentive.

I deeply respect every winner of a continental championship. I don't need a World Champion title. If we can't establish a World Championship as a event, and I think we cannot because of many reasons, don't let us invent a crude way of determing a WC.
By the way AFAIK there never was a player who won two events+ in one year, was it?

Or instead we could take a leaf out of a few other games:

a) Don't have a World Champion

b) Hold a special event once every 3 or 4 years (similar to Diplomacy World Championships) to determine a World Champion. Qualification would be determined by, say, placing in the top 5 in any Continental Championship since the last World Championship allowing for repeat qualifications as per the current Continental Championship qualification.

Personally, I'd vote for a) and not b).
