Hector Trelane / Shotgun Ritual + Blood to Water

Hector Trelane and Shotgun Ritual make walk of flame etc. strikes usable on the first round of combat, which normally couldn't be played in the first round of combat.

Blood to Water is not a strike, so can it be played in the first round with either Hector or Shotgun Ritual?

Since it's not a strike, and those cards restrict themselves to strikes, no.
