Well, it might not be perfectly clear what is the distinction between the owner and, say, controller. I think it's pretty important, since the confusion between the two are most likely the cause of questions like these emerging.
I'm not sure what "important" refers to, but, when it comes to burning cards, they are sent to their owner's ash heap, as written in the Rulebook 1.1.2.
A 'yes' or 'no' would've been helpful here in addition to explanations. So, the important distinction here is between 'controller' and 'owner'?Rulebook 1.1 section 2.
Burn: When a card is "burned," it is placed into its owner's discard pile (the discard pile is called the "ash heap" for this reason).
