Im not sure i understand how the superior effect of Ashes enters play before the vampire goes to torpor, so if anyone feels the urge to elaborate - please do.

How to read the superior version by itself:

Prevent all damage. This vampire untaps and goes to torpor and gains 2 blood from the blood bank.

There is no break in the superior effect. It isn't sequential the 4 effects are concurrent.

Im gonna try to make something of this, won't win shit but it might be fun when i encounter combat on the table.
