Exchange of "vehicles" allowed?

Hi there,

each and every vehicle reads: A minion may have only one vehicle.

What happens if a minion already has a vehicle, e.g. a Sports Bike, and wants to get a new vehicle, e.g. a Delivery Truck.
Can he "exchange" the vehicles, dropping the old one to the ash heap?

I assume that it is not possible, because of the following ruling:

Lucian cannot attempt to steal a piece of equipment that he is prohibited from having (a second vehicle, Laptop, or Leather Jacket, for example). [LSJ 19980206]

But somehow this is counterintuitive to me ...

Correct answer from jhattara. You can't attempt to get what you wouldn't be allowed to have.

Follow up question...

If a minion already has a vehicle (i.e. a Sport Bike) and uses Vast Wealth, what happens to this action if the first piece of equipment found is another vehicle (i.e. a Hawg)

Put this card on a ready minion you control. While you control this minion, he or she can equip with the first piece of equipment you find in your library (working down from the top) as a +1 stealth action (requirements and cost apply as normal). Shuffle afterward.

IIRC, the same thing as if you show an equipment the vampire could not use (because of clan restriction or discipline restriction), or when the library does not contain any equipment : nothing is equiped, and the library is reshuffled.

I don't know whether the action is successful in such a case. I believe it is.

Edit : the equipment shown is burned without cost, to be precise.

Regarding Vast Wealth's action: you only search if it is successful (== not blocked). Whatever happens to the equipment is moot regarding the successfulness of the action.
