True. On the other hand, once we have enough Archon results in, it should be easy enough to write a script which prints out the most probable number of qualifieds for a given number of players. It won't be exact, of course, but should be enough to estimate with.

Having an exactly correct number of shirts is irrelevant, since they won't all be in correct sizes anyway.

No it is not.
So far I've had a single (1) instace where there was a problem with sizes. Andf that was you my good Sir...

In the future it'll be cropping up all the time.
Especially because NC's don't most likely want to order excessive number of T shirts just in case.

I for one don't want to invest my money in speculative market of shirts for the ECQ for 6+ months in advance.



All in all, probably a wise rule change, but logistically it is a nightmare!

These tournaments, as long as they remain in Open format, are not affected by rules that affect the Qualification system.
Should their organizers decide to apply the Qualification system to their events, then, they would follow the rules given here (and there would have to be a choice on which system fits which event).
