Does Ex Nihilo also change damage of weapons to 0? It's a bit unclear to me whether the damage of weapons is still considered to be inflicted by the vampire or the weapon card. Relevant card texts below.
Name: Ex Nihilo
[FN:R2, LotN:PG]
Cardtype: Action
Cost: 1 blood
Discipline: Necromancy
+1 stealth action.
[nec] Put this card on this vampire. This vampire gets +1 stealth. Damage he or she inflicts in combat is reduced to 0, and he or she is immune to non-aggravated damage. This vampire cannot gain blood; any blood he or she gains goes to the blood bank instead. During your master phase, this vampire burns 1 blood or is burned. You may burn this card during your unlock phase.
[NEC] As above, but you may burn this card during any Methuselah's unlock phase.
Artist: Steve Ellis
Name: Sniper Rifle
[FN:R2, LoB:PO, KoT:U/PT3]
Cardtype: Equipment
Cost: 2 pool
Weapon, gun.
2R damage each strike. Only usable at long range. If the bearer blocks an action, he or she may, before range is determined, set the range for the first round of the resulting combat to long; if he or she does so, skip the determine range step that round, and the bearer's initial strike that round must be with this weapon.

It just can't work so the weapons wouldn't be affected by the "Damage he or she inflicts in combat is reduced to 0," clause!
Environmental damage however is probably a different matter, right?
So ready your Carrion Crows or Weather Controls. And Traps.

I was also thinking that it would feel very weird if the damage nullification would only affect hand strikes or strikes not coming from weapons (e.g Breath of Thanatos). Always better to ask though.
If it doesn't affect environmental damage, then I can envision a Dawn Operation happiness deck in the unforeseeable future.

No...I am not that sure anymore.
Mistakes happen when cards are read.

Minions strike, not weapons.
A striking minion is doing the damage.
What type of strike? In this case, it is a gun strike for zero.
Cards like Immortal Grapple or Kevlar Vest care about what strike is chosen.
Ex-Nihilo does not. Whatever it is, it deals zero damage. Key word - damage.
Non damage effects still resolve as per their card texts (except, you cannot gain from stealing blood - but your opponent looses the amount stolen).
Name: Kevlar Vest
[KoT:U]
Cardtype: Equipment
Cost: 1 pool
Bearer may prevent 2 damage from gun strikes or 1 damage from any other source each combat. A minion may have only one Kevlar Vest.
