No Secrets From the Magaji

Hi there,

A question came up in a recent play with regards the interaction of the cards No Secrets From the Magaji and Daring the Dawn. Situation turned our like this:

Vampire A plays an action card (at +1 stealth), and Vampire B declares an attempt to block, making use of its "equipped" No Secrets From the Magaji. After the block attempt, Vampire A plays action modifier Daring the Dawn; so preventing vampires from blocking. Question is: would No Secrets From the Magaji burn, due to fact Vampire B did not manage to block? Or does it not burn, since Daring the Dawn impedes even the block attempt (no attempt to block, hence no failed blocked)?

I am listing cards' text herewith:

No Secrets From the Magaji
+1 stealth action. Requires a ready magaji.Put this card on this magaji and unlock him or her. The magaji with this card gets +1 intercept when attempting to block vampires. If this magaji is locked, he or she may attempt to block a vampire as if unlocked. Burn this card if this magaji attempts to block a vampire but is not successful. A vampire may have only one No Secrets From the Magaji.

Daring the Dawn
Action ModifierVampires cannot block this action. This vampire takes 2 unpreventable environmental aggravated damage after action resolution. As above, but this vampire takes 1 unpreventable environmental aggravated damage.

If a block attempt by a vampire is declared before Daring the Dawn is played, the attempt would fail as soon as Daring the Dawn is played. It is not handled as "not having been attempted", since when the attempt was made, the vampire was allowed to block. Therefore, the No Secrets from the Magaji will burn.

Yes. Card text: "Burn this card if this magaji attempts to block a vampire but is not successful."
