Unlock and Wake

Methuselah A bleed his prey Methuselah B, him decides not to block or deflect, Methuselah C decides to block with a locked minion, then he plays Sense the Savage Way + Eagle's Sight.

Somebody said he cannot, is only possible with a wake card not unlock card because he's not the target, is that right?


Any regular wake effect:
Only usable by a locked vampire. This vampire wakes (they ignore the requirement 
to be unlocked for playing reaction cards and attempting to block until the end of the action). 

Sense the Savage Way, Reaction, Animalism:
Requires a vampire with capacity above 6.
[ani] +1 intercept.
[ANI] Only usable by a locked vampire. This vampire unlocks and attempts to block. 

Eagle's Sight, Reaction, Auspex:
[aus] +1 intercept.
[AUS] This vampire attempts to block the current action, ignoring the normal prey, predator or target restrictions for blocking actions. 

Sense the Savage Way unlocks you and forces you to attempt to block. That is the reason why you cannot play it before the Eagle's Sight, since you are not allowed to block the action at that point.

Basic rule of thumb: the exception to the rules must be playable first before you continue the exception.

Eagle's Sight -- exception is to ignore normal blocking restrictions. requirement needs unlocked minion to play a reaction card (barring the card's own exceptions).

Sense the Savage Way -- exception is to be playable by a locked minion. requirement needs to follow normal blocking restrictions.

Catch-22, the two requirement conditions cannot be fulfilled as each exception they provide is the other's requirement. Tricky to spot at quick glance.

You need a reaction that doesn't force you to block, like eyes of Argus
