Dementation in 5th Edition

Hi,

Apologies in advance if this question has been asked and answered in the past. 

Some friends and I picked up VTES again after around 20 year hiatus and we've noticed that Dementation is no longer a discipline available for Malkavians.

I realise that this is due to the broader Malkavian meta-plot in VTM, but how does this affect Malkavian crypt cards? Are Malkavian's with printed Dementation symbols now considered to have Dominate instead? And are Dementation cards now off limits?

The cards that have or require Dementation still do so. That discipline exists in VTES for the cards that have it.

Going forward Dementation will no longer appear on crypt or library cards.

Okay, will have a rethink about getting The Malkavian: First Blood pack to go along with the 5th Edition Malkavains in that case.

If you get two FB: Malk you can make a decent Kindred Spirits stealth bleed. If you get just one, you can use the stealth in Malk, Nos, etc decks. Having 2x copies of FB: Malk, give you a different flavor of stealth-bleed than you will get with the V5 Malks.

Note that most of the Malks in Keepers of Tradition 1 will have Dementation. This combined with 2x FB: Malk can give you enough cards pool to build a decent, but narrowly-focued Dementation deck.

Don't rethink too long.
AFAIK, the Malkavian: First Blood pack is out of print and the Dementation version might not be reprinted but changed into a dominate one instead...
