Agree with you that it isn´t very practical ....i assume it was put in as part of the requirement to not get some undesired combos to work that could result in getting a lot of vampires into play for close to no pool cost.

Very few things in VTES rules make sense, but thats the way it is.

For example, Toreador grand ball is not actually placed on any vampire, but you have to remember two different vampires in two different states (one to that doesnt unlock and one that is unblockable) regardless, with nothing in particular to help track them. It is also very logical that one vampire can dance with two others, and that they can dance while torporized, isn't it?
