I would like to know if a vampire with Patagia not involved in combat can burn a blood to gain Flight?

My guess is it cannot, but I'd appreciate an explanation as well :)

I'm not sure what you want to do with it, but the answer is no: the vampire must be involved in combat by default.

Fatima al-Faqadi or White Lily can't equip with weapons in combat they are not involved in for instance.

Thanks Ankha, it was one of my player's idea to abuse Winged Second! :)

Winged Second is a reaction card anyway, not usable in combat...

An incorrect interpretation of "Once each combat do Y to X" which is quite easily made, poor choice of wording that doesn´t explicitly nor implicitly reveal that it is limited to participants of a combat.

Should be added to the wording templates in the rulebook.

Eh? Doesn't Winged Second have an effect that is used in combat?

Granted it is ACTIVATED (just) before the combat ("Only usable when another minion you control enters combat with a minion without flight") but Patagia needs to be activated DURING combat (right?) so Patagia couldn't grant Flight before the combat starts...
