Limits to reduce bleed

Is there any rule that prevents from reduce bleed when there is no more bleed to reduce?

Let say I am being bled for 1.
Can I play 2 Deep Ecology to reduce it by 4?

Unless there is a rule like the stealth/intercept game that prevents to play stealth/intercept when it is not needed I understand that you can play as much reduce bleed as you want for, example, cycle your hand.
