file Conditioning after Dis Pater

You declare a Bleed.
Target player declines to block.
Can you use a Dis pater and then play a Conditioning and that would avoid an Archon investigation?
If yes, that would also avoid any possible bleed bounce as the bleed is about to be successful?

Thanks

Dis Pater happns in the same window of spying mission, if conditioning or archon have to happen was before you use Dis Pater, and was sucetible to spying mission

You can not play Conditioning after Dis Pater, it’s to late and the default timing window for modifiers is closed at this point i.e. you would need explicit text that allow a card to be played at this time.
As mentioned already the time window for Dis Pater is the same as the burning of Spying Mission to boost the bleed which means it is after the Archon Investigation time window and therefore “avoids” it.

If yes, that would also avoid any possible bleed bounce as the bleed is about to be successful?

Thanks

The time window for bleed bounce is also before the Dis Pater time window i.e. bounce cannot be played after Dis Pater.

Ok. Thanks.

I see now that cards like Freak Drive specifically sets that can/must be played after action resolution,

So I understand that modifiers and reactions cards can't be played after an action is considered resolved (unless specified otherwise, as always).

But for avoiding the bounce bleed, I want to let it clear.

Player A Bleeds
Plater B doesn't block/deny to block
Player A gets the impulse
Player A can use Dis patter and, effectively, end the action and denying the opportunity to use bleed bounce/reduction (and any other reaction that could not be played after resolution)

Am I correct?

No, you cannot use Dis Pater to deny bounce quite like this, the bleed first has to succeed with a specific >= 1 bleed amount (where in your example the only thing that has been determined is that the target is not blocking).

So the sequence would go like this:
  1. A bleeds
  2. B declares no block
  3. A has a chance to play other modifiers (increase bleed, or whatever)
  4. B reduces the bleed, bounces it, or lets it go through as-is.
  5. At this point, if the bleed has been determined to be successful (>= 1), A can play Dis Pater
  6. B cannot do anything to the bleed after Dis Pater (reduce it, bounce it, Archon Investigation etc). It's the same timing window as Spying Mission.

For clarity, it can be a good idea to explicitly ask "are you bouncing or reducing the bleed?" before using Dis Pater.
