file Does a regent still count as a cardinal?

The regent-title used to be defined in the rulebook like this: "The regent counts as cardinal by cards and other effects, but has an additional vote as well."

Now, this passage is no longer in the rulebook. Most cardtexts have been updated to "...cardinal, or regent", but not all.

E.g.: Does a regent get the extra vote that the cardtext of Investiture grants to cardinals?

Name: Investiture
[Sabbat:R, SW:R]
Cardtype: Political Action
Requires a cardinal or regent. Title.
In this referendum, each ready cardinal gets one additional vote. Choose a Sabbat vampire. If this referendum is successful, put this card on the chosen vampire to represent the Sabbat title of priscus. Camarilla vampires cannot cast votes or ballots during this referendum.

In the most recent rulebook the Regent title is a unique sabbat title with 4 votes, investiture only gives extra vote to cardinals (3 votes + 1 vote from the card text), so i think that Regent don´t receive this extra vote or any bonus cardinals get from cards

Hi,

Regnant was update around 2006, as am aware, with Third edition and this ruling that you are talking about is around that time.

Regent the card initial gave a vampire Title of Cardinal in 2000, and was updated in 2006.
Regent
Warning: Spoiler!

New ruling on it is updated and can be found on official link
www.vekn.net/rulebook

For update on what card is now using Regent, see vdb.im, as its usually good with tracking of this changes.

Regent card is not the issue here. I guess it was updated after the rulebook defined the regent title as a cardinal with benefits. I think you're right through, DavidR, current rulebook + no ruling to be found means that regent no longer implies cardinal. If the plan was to simplify the rulebook without changing the status quo, Investiture and potentially other cards should maybe be updated at some point. It is certainly not a particularly important issue, just something that comes up now that Sabbat decks are back in business.

As am aware,

All Sabbat cards will have new wording on POD, and in Newblood that was anounced.

But yes, some old cards can have confusing text at this time.
Best to print our proxy over the old one.

The old wording on Regent was as fallows:
Warning: Spoiler!

So think this was the root of the issue.
