How do you intend to oust?

Bleeding with other people's vampires.

How do you intend to keep from being ousted?

Gain lots of pool via Heidleburg Castle and the stolen vampires.

What do you want your ready region to look like (ie, how many guys are you planning on getting out)?

Idealy, Nahum Enosh and Matthew or Serena and a supporting vampire.

What do you want your average turn to look like?

Steal someone unblockably, take their blood, send them back on the bleed in torpor.

What's your metagame like? How do your opponents play?

There is huge variety in the current metagame. Almost anything can see play.

What problems have you observed with the deck in play?

Haven't played Spirit Marionette since Bloodlines, so I don't know how it will play in the current local environment. Vampire theft is a huge taboo locally, it is frequently targeted cross-table when possible.

I'm a little dubious about Path of Tears, the window that you can play it is rather small. One thing I suppose is that you bring out 1 Salubri and wait for a Path on your hand before you bring another one out. But with 9 out of 12 vampires being Salubri, I think that might be cutting it a bit close.

I don't know, I'm just hesitant about those kinds of cards. I always loved Legendary Vampire but before I read on the old old pathofblood forums about a trick someone had come up with involving Descent into Darkness and Legendary Vampire, I didn't want to use LV. Same with stuff like Proxy Kissed and Path of Tears.

A single copy of Unburdening the Bestial Soul (www.secretlibrary.info/index.php?lib=1088) is always fun to use as long as you have old vampires. I play with Saulot, but I'm sure Nahum works well as well. It's like Pentex, ridiculously good as long as you can pay for the cost. Something that shouldn't be a problem for this deck.

Codex of the Edenic Groundskeepers is a fun card for this kind of deck. If they stay untapped = steal with Marionette. If the tap?
Well, they're going to get bleed for 4. Possibly twice with Heidelburg.

Finally, I'm the kind of guy that doesn't make decks without a copy of Sudden Reversal because it is always useful, but that's just a personal preference. Same with Direct Intervention as well (though I don't own any DI much to my displeasure).

So, tentative suggestion:
Drop the paths.

For a similar take on the same concept (in a 67 cards version), this is what I've played a few times.

Enkil Cog is the hotness, to Spirit Marionette during your Predator's turn so you keep the minion through your Untap and Master phases.

Deck Name: Saulot + Friends
Author:
Description:
Bloat: Renewed Vigor + Minion Tap
Oust: Pulse bleeds
Keep Saulot unblockable with Neutral Guard. Signet of King Saul goes on Saulot (if you're running low on Neutral Guard) or on another minion (if your prey has a high cap blocker).
Enkil Cog + Spirit Marionette during your predator's turn lets you keep the minion through your Untap and Master phases. Villein their guy to 1 before you give him back, of course.

A very quick note - change one (or even both) of the midcap !Salubri into Silas who has dominate letting him play Spirit Marionette on outferior as well as a conditioning. His special is also somewhat useful.

Replied by ICL on topic Re: When The Spirit Moves You
I find that decks like this can bloat a ton, making them difficult to oust but have lots of problems ousting people. It ends up being a long grind with little ability to control the game once people are prepared for the Spirit Marionettes. Pulse or other permableed might address that.

I kind of like a combat angle as it adds a dimension. For one thing, you can pretty easily be beaten up, so some combat angle can grief combat decks.

I'd also rather Eyes of Argus over Glare of Lies. Lack of interaction with votes is also disturbing. I suppose Path of Tears gets better when being Banished, but otherwise, Banishment is painful. I might consider Enhanced Senses just to cut down on tool up actions and threaten to block a vote.
