Nehemiah, The Black Beast

Hello!

It's, not that it's a new year and all, time to return to Vtes. I traded myself a couple of Dabblers, and this is the first deck idea I played around with in my mind. The basic idea is to see how much extra stuff Dabbler gives Nehemiah. The combo works with Outside the Hourglass and Typhonic Beast. Or, well, basically anything plus Typhonic. I'll have to play them sparingly, though, but if I get tooled up properly Str 4 with additional strike each round should work against most stuff.

How to oust?
Rush and bleed, basically. Nothing fancy about that.

How to survive?
Rush and delay. Nothing new under the sun.

How many minions do you see yourself playing?
Nehemiah and Bupe. The others are there if I can spare my pool. Nice additions all.

Any problems?
I could see some cards going and others coming in after some playtesting. Obviously the lack of bounce is a problem, and against real hard hitters the combat isn't sufficient. The deck requires a lot of build-up as well. Also, there should be a copy of Dreams in there.

Any comments and ideas? It's the first draft, so there. I'd love to include a Dreams of the Sphinx and other pretty crucial stuff like that (Villein might not hurt either, maybe instead of Vessel?), and all those super cool Serpentis actions remain in lacking, but that might be a different deck altogether.

On small-scale adjustement, I think Dragonbound should be removed and replaced with a Dream of the sphinx, and on the other hand the Eternal Mask should really be +2 presence bleed.

On a larger scale, while I deeply dislike the card, 3x Ashur tablet seem useful.

I agree with Dragonbound. I might try it, but Dreams seems overall more useful.

I don't know about Eternal Masks though. I kind of like the Stealth in the inferior version, and the superior has cool uses like impersonating as an Archoned Arcadian or diablerized Lutz. I like to add the card for versatility. The same goes for Truth of a Thousand Lies.

You're right about Ashurs. Don't own more than one, though.

Good thing you're at exactly 88 cards now.

Why _ever_ play Ashur Tablet when you don´t have multiple master phase actions?

Because of the cool effect that's really helpful in decks that consume lots of cards?

Ashurs are usable in non MMPA decks, but they are not as broken in them. Also, you really have to think twice about your master selection. Adding three or four Ashur Tablets in there might be a cool idea to try out, and it could make the deck better. It's also easy to cycle through leftovers if the crucial ones are washed, thanks to Nehemiah's ability.

Think outside the box. The card's not singled out for just MMPA decks.
