This is one of my favorite decks. It wins, but the games are SLOW. Many people respond negatively when I bring it to the table. Would anyone like to help me improve it(in a way that doesn´t include just playing something else)?

Name: Enemigo Mio
Disrupt the prey´s strategy by milling their deck. Steal whatever cards look useful with Eriyces Fragment and Agaitas. Reuse them with Ian Forestal.

Crypt (Capacity min=3 max=8 avg=6.67; 12 cards)
==================================================[/b]
4x Agaitas, The Scholar of Antiquities 6 :for: :AUS: :NEC: Harbinger of Skulls:2
2x Anson 8 :aus: :dom: :CEL: :PRE: Toreador:1
4x Ian Forestal 8 :AUS: :DOM: :THA: !Tremere:2
1x Isabel de Leon 3 :AUS: Toreador:2
1x Le Dinh Tho 5 :aus: :dom: :NEC: Nagaraja:2

Library (90 cards)
=====================
Master (28 cards)
4x Agent of Power
1x Barrens, The
1x Elder Library
2x Erciyes Fragments, The
1x Fragment of the Book of Nod
1x Parthenon, The
8x Slaughterhouse, The
2x Spontaneous Power
1x University Hunting Ground
4x Vessel
2x Villein

Event (6 cards)
1x Anthelios, The Red Star
1x Bitter and Sweet Story, The
1x Blood Trade
1x Inconnu Tutelage
1x NRA PAC
1x Uncoiling, The
1x Veil of Darkness

Action (5 cards)
3x Revelations
2x Magic of the Smith

Political Action (2 cards)
2x Brinksmanship

Equipment (6 cards)
1x Bowl of Convergence
1x Erebus Mask
1x Heart of Nizchetus
1x Local 1111
1x Shaal Fragment

Action Modifier (14 cards)
6x Freak Drive
8x Trochomancy

Reaction (18 cards)
8x Eyes of Argus
2x My Enemy's Enemy
8x Telepathic Misdirection

Combat (12 cards)
8x Rolling with the Punches
4x Spiritual Intervention

1. How do I win? Disrupt my prey by milling. Also, I am usually able to use the cards I steal to harm at randaom, but I mostly rely on Trochomancy.

2. How do I defend? Damage prevention, SCE, and Telepathic Misdirection (plus random stolen cards). I am particularly weak against politics, so I try to find opportunites to gain titles or votes.

3. How does the deck play? I NEED Agaitas first to mill and steal, then I bring out Ian to make use of stolen cards. I try to play a high amount of masters and events to fire Agaits´ power.

I just want to know if there are ways to make this more competitive. I haven´t found anything that combines these two star vamps like this (but someone may have something like it... I don´t know)

My main advice : stop trying to believe that milling deck work in vtes. At best, it's a bad strategy that lead you to lose. At worst, you ruin the day of your prey without being able to do anything worthwhile.

Just accept that VtES is a game where you target pool to oust, not anything else.

Well that was kinda useless. I mean, you're not wrong but I wouldn't call this deck advice, especially since the poster specifically asked those who bother to post to NOT suggest he play something else. Eventhough I agree with you, you could have at least suggested something.

Having said that, I wouldn't focus on the mill. Instead, use the mill to disrupt lightly while enabling Trochomancy's bleed boost. The crypt is strange and I would start by going full Harbinger. Egotha is nice because he mills 1 card without you having to do anything. As for specific cards, here's what I would add:

- Camera Phone/bleed retainers
- Jar the Soul (tap and bleed)
- Call of the Hungry Dead (block denial)
- Force of Will/Daring the Dawn for the surprise bleed of 6+ (bleed equipment/retainer + Trochomancy)
- Also why not 4-5 Govern the Unaligned? You've got four copies of Ian and he's your biggest vampire. Take advantage of DOM.

I get what you're trying to do with Agaitas and Ian Forestal and you can keep them I suppose but I would flush out Anson for Egotha as previously mentioned and would modify the master module/remove the events accordingly. This should make the deck more aggressive.

When someone explain you they are determinate to use a shoe to hammer a nail in a wall, should you give advice on what kind of shoe he should use, or explain him that he should use a hammer ?

It's the same here. The basis of the deck - which is filling your hand with cards from another people deck and hoping to pass a vote with only one titled vampire in the crypt - is so flawed and wrong that the best thing to do is recalling how utterly useless the deck.

No one said anything about Brinkmanship being the bases of the deck. I assume its in the deck as silver bullet for those rare cases where he can actually pull it off. I would flush it of course. But you're wrong about it being the bases of the deck. So was your comment.

I don´t think library depletion is a useless strategy. Against reduced decks
(which in certain enviroments are a majority) is very strong and also against recursive decks, proven to be tier 1 on vtes ( Girls, Nana etc..).

I have seen a succesful and strong tournament deck using slaughterhouse. If you want me to I can post it right here.

A friend of mine, Txus Alutiz, was also first seed with three tables won won on Spanish Vtes Championship with an Agaithas, Forestal grinder ( he had some luck though !!!). Can post the deck also.

Comments to the posted deck.

I would follow a ventrue antitribu grinder construction pattern with a little more master heavy module.

Cards that give you disciplines, events and brinkmanship are not very useful. Quite the opposite.

I would either choose Agaithas, Forestal grinding strategy or a more focused library depletion strategy, but not both.
