Some interesting cards that require Lasombra:

Path of night reduces the cost of obten cards for all your minions from Sabbat War edition.

Drink the blood of Ahriman from Sword of Cain which gives +1 strength and reduces the cost of obten cards for the minion with this card.

I linked him a few of the card descriptions out of Secret Library. I'd remembered after the fact that Path was out of Sabbat War, so I linked that. He's certainly got enough light intercept to stop casual burns of the card.
