Lech was gracious enough to write a report detailing how he used a Lifeboon strategy to win the finals. He carried out his plan perfectly and deserved to win.
Moving forward, I believe Lifeboon should be banned from tournament play. While Lifeboon works well in the pre-rounds, it becomes too disruptive in the final game with the timeout win rule and seeding. I believe it will become increasingly important to encourage players to play more aggressively, and enabling a Lifeboon strategy surely does not help with this. leave your thoughts in the comments please.
Special shoutout to Mårten Cederholm who streamed the final last minute. you can rewatch the game here:

Finals seating:
Martin Weinmayer (4th Seed) Hecata Servitor Bleed ->
Lech Ivanov (5th Seed) Gangrel Anarch Toolbox ->
Will Matson (Topseed) Goratrix Block ->
Mårten Cederholm (2nd Seed) Gangrel Anarch Toolbox ->
Mikołaj Nosek (3rd Seed) Gangrel Anarch Toolbox ->
Final Game: (Lech Ivanov perspective)
After we revealed the crypt cards for place pick, I realized that I was in big trouble because we had a three-way crypt contest. Martin played the deck he won the tournament in Serbia with, so everyone knew that sitting in front of him was the worst position because his deck is by far the most aggressive. So I end up being his prey and Goratrix being my prey. I knew from the start that ousting Goratrix was not an option for me, and that if I tried to bleed, I would only help him get a VP, so my plan was clear: win by life boon.
I had a good spread on crypt, with Kuyen on start, followed by Andre the manipulator (even if not anarch, 2 hand size is worth it) and Massimiliano. As Martin is well-known in the community and has posted his winning deck, I decided to take advantage of this. Because the deck list was known to the majority of players, I told my prey that if he starts to block, he will ensure a Victory Point for Martin, who plays an aggressive deck and will need to score to win, and now he can win simply by time out.
So we agreed that he would let me develop as long as I didn't move forward, which I did. I was fortunate to draw a Lifeboon early in the game and have some cards, such as Domain Challenge, to bring someone close to death and then save them with a Lifeboon. For those who are unfamiliar with the Lifeboon, it works as follows: a player uses the Lifeboon to save another player who is being ousted from oust by giving him his pool, but the next vp saved is given to the savior, along with 0.5 vp from the time out.
I played a Club Illusion to help Marten and Mikolaj put more pressure on their prey. I knew I'd never use it because I'd help the top seed by bleeding, and he'd bounce. Despite Martin's relentless assault, I was able to bloat effectively, so I keep my pool as close to 20 as possible. I see that my plan is working because both other gangrels are battling vampires and masters, so one of them will eventually fall, but it needed to happen as late as possible, so I played a couple of Consanguineous Boons to slow the process down, but it happens at the 17-minute mark.
Mikolaj is being ousted, and I play a Lifeboon on him (this is where I made a nearly fatal mistake: I had 18 pools and decided to give him 8 pools, which was a little too much; I thought 7 or 6 was enough). Because with 17 minutes on the clock, everyone, including me, needed to survive about one more rotation, and if there had been another 10 seconds, I could have been eliminated due to a lack of decrease or bounce. I also had to spend 1 pool to DI the Enkil Cog that was played on Goratrix because he would get a VP during the other turn as Marten was down to 2 pools and one bleed would kill him.
Overall very close game and I was happy that my plan worked.
