We had a problem with our previous place from first minutes, and decided, and partly were asked to, leave. This was very much unwanted, and complicated things to a large extent. We were supposed to play 3R+F, but obviously had no time to play more than 2R+F because we had to change place. Well, now we know we're not going to organize tournaments there anymore.

Our goal of having a bit more beginner friendly tournament was thwarted a bit by a couple of decks, mainly Baali, that were pretty nasty. Then again, the information of how veteran players 'should' play in the tournament were vague at best. :) I wanted to give players free hands in their deck building. Eventually people had fun, however, and I recieved only few complaints about the poor organization. The former mainly consists of me poorly informing the restaurant of our coming. What I wonder is that why they would ask us to leave if we're, eventually, paying customers, and I of course adviced everyone to buy something from the counter, even if we didn't properly inform of our coming... A mistake on my part, yes, but arguably unnecessary behaviour on their part too.

Sadly we had mostly veterans in the finals. However, Tino can be counted as one of the 'more recent' ones, and happily enough Miika (who was playing my deck) ended up in the finals despite he had played only a single promo game before the tournament! :) He managed well enough, even though he obviously needs to learn the basics just for the basic speed of the game. Then again, who doesn't. I had to have two years before my gaming turned smooth. -Er, at least.

There were plenty of promos for those entering a tournament for the first time, and boosters for the finalists (4+3+2+2+2), as well as a single booster randomized amongst the non-finalists. Esa-Matti had to leave early, and thus couldn't attend the finals.

Anyways, next time we know where to go for the tournament in the first place. We have this wonderful place a bit out of town (15min by bike from the center) where younger gamers and larpers have their meetings twice a month. It's free, we have plenty of space, it's open all saturday and there's a kitchen. Also pool and boardgames for those who get ousted early. :) Thanks for my little brother for organizing the larper meetings.

Anyways, more news next month!
