Wow, that was a blast! A whopping 16 players, a few mates from Helsinki and a surprise Kasimir who'd just returned from Tampere and moved in again for at least the spring for work! The last we saw Kassu in the Jyhad was a couple of years ago! Also, Aki got to the finals for the first time in his career. Job well done!

This tournament started our Garou Rim Monthly tournaments in Joensuu. So from now on our perviously randomly named monthly tournaments can be identified by a common name. I think it's kinda cool.

Anyways, there's no better way to start the series of tournaments than a surprising amount of participants. We also gained some interest within the local geek populace, and might grow a player or two larger a group before summer! Ain't that grand!

The winner earned his spoils again; it wasn't the first tournament win Tomi Sillanpää has achieved here, and most likely it won't be the last! His DOM/PRE/OBF big caps bleeder (with a single copy of Banishment ;) ) was steered to vitory through not a mistake too many, and the deck archetype proved how effective it can be in capable hands.

The final table was as follows:

Hannu Kokkonen - Luna Giovanni and Neferu tag team
Aki Puolakka - Guruhi toolbox
Tomi Sillanpää - Huitzliopotzli and mates
Kasimir Myller - Nizzam and fellow assamites
Petrus Makkonen - Nehemiah Typhonic Beast

Basically, what happened, was that I (once again) failed to take a quick oust from Hannu, who after surviving Banished Nehemiah with Luna (robbing me of one super crucial gear up turn), and soon enough lunged for the oust (which Tomi granted him with his vote lock). Kassu never really stood a chance against the Obfuscate Leandro and Huitzliopotzli, and it was just a matter of time before both Kassu and Aki were cleaned from the table. Me, robbed of build up time, had little chance of getting through to Tomi's vampires through Hell's Fury and Obedience, and I was duly ousted. Hannu and Tomi had plenty of time to duel it out, and for a long time it seemed like a really even match, Hannu bloating like a maniac with Khobar Towers and pressing Tomi hard with Shambling Hordes, but eventually Hannu succumbed to the bleeds and votes Tomi threw at him.

Well played, everyone, and I greatly enjoyed all decks that we saw today! Decks especially worth mentioning (from what I experienced through the three games) were Reetta's Hrothulf + Sonya Blue combat whatever and Hannu's Necromancy voters with great synergy created by Khobar Towers and Shambling Hordes.

Heh, cood description on what happened. I'd just like to point that the deck I was playing had exactly one vote card(I send my best wishes to Randal :p).

Not exactly a "vote&bleed" deck ;)
