TWD: Melbourne qualifier for Aus/NZ Championships, 22 June 2013

Hi all,
Last weekend, Melbourne hosted their state qualifier for upcoming Aus/NZ Championships (October 2013). While we didn't get the number of interstate travellers that often rock up for such events, we did score a respectable 13 players for the day. There was a good cross-selection of decks, but all decks that made the final had some bruise- angle to them.
Top seed into the finals was Stu Jaques, last year's Continental Champion who'd dusted off his Gargoyle breed deck that had won him the trophy. Other finalists were Alistair (Lasombra bruise, with some bleed/intercept splash), Steve V (Brujah debate bruise/vote), Keith 'Psycho' Lim bringing a Malkavian antitribu bleeder that had more than the usual amount of Potence that you'd expect to see in such a deck, and David M playing an old-school Celerityicious wall of Toreador.
As so often happens at finals, the first oust was the last, with Alistair succumbing to a flurry of Steve's votes in the last quarter of the game before timing out. 1.5 VPs gave the Brujah the victory, and a deserving win for Steve.

Steve Van Nus Tournament Qualifier Winning Deck
Deck Name : Brujah Mass Debate
Author : Steve Van Nus
Description : Deck designed to get weenies princes out quick, parity’s for pool damage/gain which also gives strong deal making power. Brujah Debates for defence/offence, hopefully making prey/predator thinking twice before blocking. Has a some combat so you hopefully don’t get totally pole-axed when table starts working together to remove Debates (which happens). Immortal Grapples are there to keep other decks that pack strike combat/dodge decks (and no prevention) nervous about blocking, & blood dolls in there to reduce your pool if prey is staying under parity shift range, and for blood/pool management. Carthage Remembered + computer hacking worked well in one game. Second Tradition for block defence worked well.
Card’s I’d take out: Well-Aimed Car (placed in there for shits & giggles, never got to use), would replace for stunt cycle or sew lid. Would take out 1 pulled fang and replace with 1 disarm (grappled and disarmed Anneke after she blocked cross table as she kept voted down most of what I did-which is understandable).
Possible additions:- Another Dreams of the Sphinx , Smiling Jack, Specialization, Parthenon ( I could not find any I owned otherwise on the day I would have had 3-4 in deck).

First deck for the TWDA that even uses Well-Aimed Car!
I wonder what other Jyhad cards have never been in a TWD...

Thats a good question ....
My guesses are: betrayer, body of sun, gypsies, and letter from vienna.
Well aimed car is totally just a fun card..... i used to have a "roccias new car" deck using roccia, high ground, and well aimed car. Good for giggles.

Political Flux shows up in 8 decks in the TWDA (somewhat amusingly, 3 of these are also from Australia).
AFAICT, the Jyhad cards that have not yet shown up in the TWDA are:
Vampires:
Appolonius
Dr. Jest
Ebanezer Roush
Lazarus (base)
Miranda Sanova
Quinton McDonnell
Sebastian Marley
Library:
Betrayer
Body of Sun
Chainsaw
Gypsies
Kindred Society Games
Letter from Vienna
Malkavian Time Auction
Masquerade Endangered
Masquerade Enforcement
Nosferatu Putrescence
Outcast Mage
Regaining the Upper Hand
Sabbat Threat
Surprise Influence
The Spawning Pool
Tragic Love Affair
Well-Aimed Car (although that will change as soon as this deck is added)
(excluding the ante cards like High Stakes)
I'm a bit surprised by Lazarus not making the cut. Of the library cards, I was surprised that Kindred Society Games and Masquerade Endangered had not found their way into at least one dec by now.
