Tournament: Finnish Nationals 2017
Date: Saturday September 23rd, 2017
Place: Jukeboksi, Espoo, Finland
Players: 24
Format: National Championship Constructed, 3R+F
Organizer: Tero Aalto
Winner: Matti Palomäki (deck list below)
The Nationals attracted the same number of players to the same venue as last year. Everything went smoothly and a new champion was found. In the first two rounds, there were many timeouts (4/5 and 3/5, respectively) but the third round had none. The final timed out after one player had been eliminated.
My personal perception was that the number of combat decks was lower than usual. Then again, I didn't witness that much voting, either. There was a lot of variation in archetypes, which is also reflected in the final. The final table:
Matti won the final with 1,5 points.

Deck name: Ondine has hell to pay in 2017
Author: Matti Palomäki
Description:
Thanks to Tom Lindberg for ideas on playing Ondine.
My version of the deck focuses on what I though would be cool over what would be practical.

Congrats to Matti.
Finally a Nationals win for the Helsinki region...
Pauli, who went to the finals with 1st seed, was the winner of last year's Nationals.
Not bad, especially considering that he had copied the Khazar deck from the web and was playing it for the first time ever, IIRC.

Congratulations on the organization, on everyone for attending, on the second places and specially the Champion.
Noora also was playing a deck for the first time, I hear.
