Week of Nightmares 2019 Event 1
Standard Constructed, 2 Rounds + Final
18 Players

Deck Name: Hybrid Legionnaire 4.2
Author & Player: Bill Troxel
3rd Seed with 1GW 5VP, 1GW 4VP in the final

Most proud of this deck for the synergy between Mina, Thomasso,
Jake Washington, Shambler rush and Tye Cooper. Mina gets blood
when Tye eats vamps that the Shamblers torporize. She can push
blood to Thomasso with his special. If you push Mina's last
blood to him, you can pop Jake for her in the same phase.

This deck swarms fairly quickly with Shamblers and Legionnaires.
Called "Hybrid" because it uses burn-option cards in addition to
Specialization/Liquidation for dumping cards to power Legionnaires.
If I were to play it again, I might remove the Specializations in
exchange for a couple more Liquidations and a few Funeral Wakes.
That said, Specialization did save me from being ousted by Fame
in torpor in the final round, so it's hard to hate it.

Neat synergies! Looks like this deck gets a fast start putting vampires into play, who then focus on recruiting allies that mostly cost blood (if anything). One liquidation would pay for Tye, Carlton, or Ossian. Short of early blocks that can handle block fails it looks quite difficult to thwart!

Be careful when you fight the monsters, lest you become one.

So you chose Draeven Softfoot (Changeling) as burn option cards to feed the Shamblers.
Did you ever encounter a Khazar's Diary deck and if yes, could you handle it?
Those Draeven really feed the Diary after it popped ...

It was an 18 person tournament that is generally considered more casual than most so probably no one played it.

The Draevens will feed recursion of the Emerald Legionnaires. The EL's themselves might be more of a problem though. However this deck is likely fast enough so that when Khazar pops this decks ash heap wont really have any allies in it.

I like the deck concept, but would probably make the following adjustments were i to play it.
+2 Prejudice (a bit of anti-EL/Khazars tech)
+1 Primo Giovanni
-1 Nicomedes
-1 Nunzio
- 1 Thomasso
Add 4'ish deflections, a couple on the qui vive, a copule DI's, crematorium (probably 1 less Tye cooper) and acheron vortexes (to push past casual intercept). Dunno what to remove.

The first few Draevens will feed the Shamblers and the rest some EL.
Only for EL any other Burn Option card would minimize the risk of fuelling a popped Khazars.
