Emiliano "Sans Terre" - Wandering Player - Prince of Brussels
Belgian Limited National Championship 2022
Brussels, Belgium
July 9, 2022
3R + F
14 Players
Organizer & winner: Emiliano Imeroni
www.vekn.net/event-calendar/event/10218
A quick overview
14 players assembled for the first ever Limited Belgian Championship... draft events are rare these days so we might as well make the few ones that we play count!
This was also a "warm up" event for the constructed Championship on the following day (here is the report for that one, congratulations Bram!).
Each player drafted a mix of sealed and "home-made" product, detailed here : basically, 2 Jyhad boosters and 3 home-made boosters, made from First Blood and New Blood decks with a sprinkle of vampires from the Berlin Anthology.
The sheer power (for a draft) of the First Blood and New Blood decks resulted into a much more "constructed" feeling than in traditional draft events, with focused, effective decks (often mono-clan!) that had no problem ousting people and preventing games going to time.
You can find photos of the tournament on the Facebook event page .
After three hard-fought rounds, five players sat to play the finals in the following order:
Axel (Nosferatu fight-ish) -> Serge (Malkavian S&B) -> Marius (Epikasta & co. politics) -> Alexandre (Ventrue bleed/vote) -> Emiliano (Toreador bleed/vote).
Axel chose his seating hoping that the very aggressive bleeds and votes Alexandre's deck was capable of would stop Emiliano in his tracks. However, an early Toreador Justicar played by Emiliano and supported by Marius provided a crucial swing to the balance of votes on the table. Axel ousted Serge and Marius ousted Alexandre, but then a same-turn combo of Domain Challenge + Ancilla Empowerment sealed the win for Emiliano's Toreadors.
Result: Emiliano 3 VP, Axel 1 VP, Marius 1 VP
Funnily, Axel and I now occupy the top two spots of the Limited world ranking, thanks to a whopping two tournaments played together! LOL!
Thanks to everyone for a super-fun day of drafting!
Final standings
The final standings as well as the results of all games of the tournament are included in the attached pdf file:
Tournament winning deck (FWIW)
Deck Name: Toreador Justicar
Author: Emiliano Imeroni
Description: I know it does not make much sense to post the winning decklist for a draft event, but I decided to do it just to give people an idea of the kind of decks that could be built with the available selection of product drafted. Not bad, huh?
MVP: Toreador Justicar (ask Alexandre)
Personal favorite: Crocodile's Tongue... in particular for the oust!
Honourable mention: titled vamps with +1 bleed... and Resplendent Protector, not bad at all!
I would drop: Protracted Investment
Crypt (6 cards, min=25 max=29 avg=6.67)

Nah,. It makes very much send to post draft's winning deck.
Always nice to see what kind of scrounged mash-up manages to pull together a tournament win!
Thank you! <3
