As the city of Joensuu was having a rock festival, the Methusalehs played their games in the shadows. Those brave enough to challenge the intense heat and the bright sun included a newcomer whose rise to the top was magnificent! Also Imbued managed to crawl to the finals.

This time it was Markus Määttänen who snatched victory as a new Methusaleh in the scene.

The finals reveal:

Simo Tiippana was the top seed with respectable 2GW8. Seating was as follows:
1. Tapio Törrönen - Talbot's Chainsaw Imbued
2. Pasi Karjalainen - Hungry Banu Haqim
3. Timo Tahvanainen - Emerald Legionnaire Erlik
4. Simo Tiippana - Hecata
5. Markus Määttänen - Stanislava

In the first hour of the finals Banu Haqim battled with Imbued, as to not letting them build up. Erlik managed to pull off couple of trochomancy bleeds against Hecata, denying rapid growth and Hecatas villein 5 was denied with sudden reversal. Stanislava played carefully.

Imbued was ousted when there was 56 minutes left. Banu Haqim had trouble finding their Haqim's Law: Retributions and Hecata was battling ever-growing numbers of Emerald Legionnaires as there were four Harbringers at the table and Erebus got to recruit free Legionnaires. In the end Hecata was unable to stop the march of the Legionnaires and was ousted when there was only 16 minutes left. Also Erlik found inner peace via Golconda fourth time during the tournament.

In this state Stanislava was on its way to victory, so Harbringers had to go on the offense. Banu Haqim managed finally to find their Retributions and started bleeding, but thanks to Erliks sacrifice Harbringers had quite a decent pool buffer to fend off bleeds for the last minutes. Harbringers tried to oust Stanislava, who was sitting in 5 pools but there wasn't enough steam left in Harbringers, as Banu Haqim's systematically torpored the last Harbringers and thinned the Legionnaires numbers. In the end time ran out and Stanislava emerged as victor, Harbringers close second.

And thus a new player took his first tournament victory in his first tournament!
