TWD - CAPIXABÃO 2025 - Vila Velha - 27/09/2025

Today we had another “STATE Tournament” for our beloved VTES.

SO many players showed up for the eternal battle to see who would be crowned the 2025 Espírito Santo champion.

I confess that I was sad a few days before, as fewer players confirmed their attendance than last year. But what I saw today was an example of the meaning of friendship.

Some of us have been playing this game since its launch... yes, it's been 30 years of the game, a friendship that began when we were kids, and today we even have children of players joining us in this game, kids we've seen born and grow up, and they already play very well. Unfortunately, our "MASCOTS" didn't play today because of school exams, but they arrived at the end of the tournament to watch the final matches and were incredibly excited.

Well, I'm not boasting, but my principality is known for offering good prizes to ALL participants, with the finalists and champions winning extra things, but this year I changed things up a little bit - I created a PRIZE WALL where participating in the tournament gave you the right to 1 "credit", each table played gave you +1 "credit", and each VP made also gave you +1 "credit", which could be exchanged for PRIZE WALL cards that had values ranging from 1 to 5 "credits", and people LOVED this prize format, being able to choose from several game promos. Newcomers who hadn't played with us in a while were excited to come to our weekly matches again and bring new friends to meet us.

This is gratifying for a 43-year-old prince, 8 years in the "job," and, honestly, very tired (my gray beard says it all...).

Regarding the tournament, we had wonderful matches, and after three rounds, the following players qualified for the final:

After almost two hours of play, Tárcio was crowned champion, playing a PERFECT game, actually, it wasn't perfect because it killed me... but I'm SO happy to see a longtime friend become champion, get emotional about it, and demonstrate once again what I always say:

VTES IS JUST AN EXCUSE, FRIENDSHIP IS THE REASON!!!

I'd like to extend my sincere thanks to the entire Espírito Santo playgroup, we are AWESOME!!! Also to ED, the second prince of our state, a dear friend of decades, who was here to sort the registration boosters and promo cards and helped me immensely organize this event. And last but not least, to MARLON, who returned to play two months ago after years of torpor, and who kindly bought and donated the tournament trophies to my principality – MY FRIEND, YOU ARE AWESOME!!!
