Nice, solid idea. But I still think that cards should be published as pdf for anyone to print, and that all reasonably presented cards should be legal for tournament play. And no rarities, no boosters.

The concept here is not to get GMT to print the cards, it's to discuss the idea of funding the printing of cards by getting fans to pre-buy the product.
The company Juggernaut is mentioning is simply an example of a company that is doing something similar to his suggestion, a separate company would need to be found to do the actual printing.

That's what I understood from reading the said website, but Jugg's post was confusing.
So we'll need *also* to find a company that prints card. Carta Mundi could be a solution but I don't think they're cheap (at least for a small print) and I don't know if they'll be ok to print "genuine" VTES cards.

I guess they'd be OK to print anything: it's the VEKN getting sued, not them. Do cards get an ISBN or anything like that?

I doubt it, the problem is the Game Mechanic IP and the Theme IP (Clans, Disciplines, etc) that comes from White Wolf.

Ankha,
I don't care if Carta Mundi print it, Hallmark, Three bearded truckies from Idaho with a cardboard offset printer or 3,000 Christmas elves in the new years break. The post was never about who prints it but a way to encourage the VEKN to think it would be worth printing professional quality cards by pre-purchasing those cards.

Wizards / Hasbro also owns the "Deckmaster" symbol and the "tap" / "untap" mechanics.

Wizards / Hasbro also owns the "Deckmaster" symbol

which is conveniently located on the back of the cards. So no printing playable cards without Hasbro's agreement.
