file Aire of Carnage - more throughput for bruise-bleed

ANI isn't enough to block someone with OBF. But if Nangila plays familial on your bleed you might want to seriously consider whether you want to do the bleed through and possibly get smashed by Nangila as a thank you, or just fail the action.

EDIT: Familial also combos perfectly with sense the savage way and guard dogs/rat's warning since it requires you to be untapped if you want to enter combat with them (the +1 int you can get with a wake too).

I haven´t read all of the "Is combat weak"-thread, but I notice Brujah bruise-bleed deck seldom win tournaments. Is this worth adressing? I think so.

It should be noted that dom/pot b&b doesn't do much better. If Govern, Conditioning and Deflection doesn't make b&b playable we should probably just accept that b&b is a crap concept and focus on providing rush decks with ousting mechanisms that don't destroy deck consistency.

I have thought of the exact same thing. Celerity could also get a card like this, although there are a risk of combat getting a bit too good. Maybe cost 1 blood?

Something like...

Fleetness
Type: Action
Requires: Celerity
Cost: 1 blood
+1 stealth action.
[cel] (D) Bleed.
[CEL] (D) Enter combat with a tapped minion. This acting vampire gets an optional maneuver during this combat.

Quick and superficial analysis:

What makes Euro Brujah good?
  • Crazy good defense: Second Tradition, Deflection
  • Theo Bell can flow combat cards.
  • Parity Shift!!!
What makes Tremere B&B good?
  • The third 'B': Carna, AUS
  • Magic of the Smith to Heart of Nizchetus to flow cards and get just the right equipment.
  • Theft of Vitae generates blood which translates to a pool/minion advantage.
What makes :cel::pot::pre: bruise-bleed bad?
  • No defense.
  • Can't unjam combat cards without rush actions.
  • Weak pool gain (Enchant Kindred, Social Charm, etc.)

What do all three deck types have in common? They can bleed for 3 or more easily. Therefore, I think any card(s) aimed at making standard Brujah bruise-bleed more viable must address its weaknesses - namely, defense.

Actually, the more fundamental themes shared by the 2 successful deck types out of those 3 seem to be a) cards that are great on their own, many of them among the best cards in the game and b) good card flow. Both of those decks can make strong plays on most turns with only two or three cards in hand that fit the occasion, while the average b&b deck needs something like 4 cards to make an average play.

And the reason it is never played is that you spend a blood to get a +1 stealth no-other-benefit bleed. If it was a +1 bleed at 0-stealth (like Deep Song) it would see more use. Oh, and Deep Song is FREE... So yeah, Fleetness tends to get left behind. Also like Speed of Thought tends to get left behind...

Hey, I never said Fleetness is good. It's a useful example of how not to design Deep Song.
